IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY PROFILE
Margaret Eleanor Ferran brings a refined focus and unwavering dedication to supporting immigrants in the US and primarily specializes in employment-based immigration matters. Margaret’s legal journey is rooted in her commitment to empowering individuals and businesses to achieve their immigration goals. She emphasizes transparent communication and strong client relationships, and she approaches every case with genuine care.
Margaret earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Law and her B.A. in Theatre from the University of Arkansas. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Minnesota, with her Texas licensure actively in process. Leveraging her extensive experience in navigating complex visa and green card petitions, she supports both individual professionals and employers with precision, empathy, and strategic insight. Her experience covers a wide spectrum of employment-based immigration: she expertly handles H-1B, L-1, O-1, E-2, R-1, and F-1 nonimmigrant visas, as well as EB-1A, EB-1B, and EB-2 NIW I-140 petitions and PERM applications, and responses to RFEs, NOIRs, and NOIDs based on case law, USCIS policy, and administrative precedent to build persuasive, client-focused arguments.
Margaret's passion for immigration law is rooted in both personal and professional experiences. She has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by her friends, community members, and their families in navigating the complex immigration legal system and attendant political challenges; their stories of resilience and opportunity resonated deeply with her, reinforcing her belief that supporting immigrants strengthens families, communities, and society as a whole. Her own journey through education, moving across states, and pursuing new opportunities has deepened her appreciation for the courage it takes to start anew in a different country. That perspective drew her to immigration law during law school, where her early work with families and professionals showed her the life-changing impact of a single visa or green card approval. Ever since, she has approached every case with empathy, dedication, and a genuine commitment to helping clients achieve their goals.
A proud Arkansas native now practicing in Dallas, Margaret maintains a lifelong connection to the arts, reflecting her passion for storytelling and performance. Off the clock, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their two dogs, and taking care of her ever-growing collection of houseplants.
